It seems that Mr Brown loves to use the schoolboy, schoolgirl approach to make satires of regional politics. Though trite, it is nevertheless enjoyable. However, I wish that Mr Brown would use other scenarios to make his satires.

Jakarta unhappy but S’pore explains why it wants wider haze effort

    Sharon Vasoo
    Deputy Foreign Editor

THE haze that shrouds the region has spilled over from the skies into the diplomatic arena.

Yesterday, it emerged that Indonesia had taken strong exception to Singapore’s suggestion, made at the United Nations General Assembly late last month, to seek international expertise to tackle the problem.

After that it even summoned Mr Ashok Mirpuri, Singapore’s envoy to Jakarta, to express its unhappiness.

At the heart of the debate is whether the problem can be dealt with by the Association of South-east Asian Nations (Asean) alone — a path Jakarta favours — or whether worldwide assistance should be sought.

When Singapore called for a wider effort at the United Nations on Oct 25, Indonesia’s response was testy. Its representative, Ms Adiyatwidi Adiwoso Asmady, said the move was “tantamount to interference in the domestic affairs of Indonesia”.

She added: “Where there is already a bilateral and regional arrangement for addressing a problem, let us make full use of them instead of misusing the UN forum in a frenzy of naming and shaming.”

My school actually closed down our toilets so all of us took 10 mins just to find a toilet. and the worse thing is they open toilets randomly. so one day it’s open and the next it’s not.

Damn. Those other people in the podcast are really not good. Their voice acting is like a primary school skit leh.

I think the rapport between mr. Miyagi and you is the best but Ruby Pan and Imran is not bad too.

Sorry. But I think the podcasts aren’t sounding as funny and natural as before.

  18. think Says:
