  10. candyman Says:

Extradition treaty means an agreement bet. 2 countires on the evacuation of criminals, suspects & etc if one Govt request it. If Singapore were to comply with this treaty, the more than 18,000 millionaires Indonesians will flee for their lives. This will leave a void in our Financial sector, pte properties & housings, and a bitter taste for the Sin Govt.

  11. Haiyo Says:

Sg gov only know how to harbour criminals lor. Deal with burma, dine with thaksin etc. Singapore is an excellent hub for money laundering. As long as don’t launder money and be stupid enough to sue the propaganda newspaper can already.

  12. battleboy Says:

wah lao! any how stop the sand. genting international stock keep droping sia! cuz of the casino thingy… i think thats the way to make singapore minister wake up that we are not really that stong!

  13. Joseph Tan Says:

Well guys, I think it all boils down to jealousy! Why can’t their country be successful like ours?

There was joke I heard some years back from a friend about leaders’ visit a nearby Socialist Country. One of our leaders told the Junta Government that we can make their country like Singapore (all clean, beautiful and successful) in 7 years, if the country was ours. Feeling agitated, he rebutted saying that if Singapore was given to him. He would make it look like his country in 7 days!

    What a smug!

  14. Su Mengde Says:

According to what I’ve read from a book, these occasional tension in relations are of course due to their resentment and envy towards Singapore.

    Here is what I’ve read:

Though Singapore is appreciated by her neighbours for her intellectual contribution, Singapore has the tendency to glorify her achievements and behave condescendingly towards her neighbours.

There is also no doubt achieving more than her neighbours has brought about envy from other countries. Coupled with our arrogance, our country would have to face tense relations with our neighbours time to time.

Yet again, when dealing neighbours, we have to bear in mind about Singapore’s survival. After all, we are not that powerful. The only thing we can do is to be more sensitive towards our neighbours on aspects where our national interests are not concerned.

We (Singapore) cannot be so full of ourselves. Do you still remember the diplomat from Beijing calling us arrogant? I concur with her to some extent.
