I’d just got hold of another possible “mee siam mai hum”. I got it from the Sammyboys:

Our Dear LEEder is seeing a phantom train or what? Can we see any MRT line along the CTE???
Can anyone confirm? If not, we are living in a very dangerous time. Our LEEder don’t live with his feet on the GROUND!

In my final year at the university studying English, in the mid-1990s, I took a short enrichment course in modern Physics, where one lecturer suggested that Singapore, being near the Equator, was a great place to launch into space.
I would have thought one of our southern islands would be ideal for a space centre & a rocket pad, but looks like they’re earmarked as far more profitable playgrounds for the ultra-rich.

It is possible to sight the MRT line near CTE, between the Ang Mo Kio & Bishan stations.
PM Lee was, after all, general enough, as to exactly where he was, how slowly he was driving, and for how long, to have spotted packed trains.
I can only access his quotes, only excerpted in the print edition I subscribe to, which lacks the full transcript of his speech available online.
I wonder if anyone paid $15 to $72 just to read that, and would fill us in on more details.
