Yesterday’s Straits Times reported that next year’s inflation will hit 5% first (as if that is so normal, compared to the typically expected 3% annually).
So hang on in there, everyone.
Don’t talk about light at the end of the tunnel, because we’re still in the dim of it, and it’s only getting darker.
But strangely, I notice many, many shoppers at the malls, even during off-peak weekday afternoons, and the costly food courts are crowded even then.
Is our complaining getting louder, as we get more prosperous?
And stop grumbling about ministerial pay hikes.
Our MM Lee was reported on Monday, in taking over as GIC chairman, as stating that their top fund managers get paid top dollar topping our top ministers by many times, to the laughter of those present & listening.
So rather than begrudging only ministers in the government, how about shifting against the so-many-more other top-earners around, who at this moment could very well be joining us in our whining complaints?
Perhaps they are really the ones driving up our booming economy? And prices?
By the way, all this government-bashing –
have you hugged today,
a low-ranking, bread-&-butter-employee, equally-suffering-like-you-&-I, public servant,
who works under Singapore’s largest employer?
Or are we unfairly panning them too?

cost of living is so high, sg pple might think of migration…
November 16th, 2007 at 1:31 pm
But where to migrate to?
Western countries like Australia & UK are also expensive; even Japan is too.
So it’s to our neighbours e.g. Malaysia, Indonesia & Thailand?
Or the big friendlies of India & China?
And will we be guaranteed equal citizenship by them?
